Amigos Bar and BistroLocation: Downtown across from Centra Park Comments: For the best of American fare - burgers, chicken fingers and fries, tt's THE place to meet and swap stories with the many ExPats in Boquete. Drop by to say hello to owners Mark and Jennifer and let them know HelloBoquete sent you there. Phone: (507) 720-1135 |
Boquete BistroLocation: Comments: "The Bistro can be found easily in town and has a great location. While I was hoping for a real French bistro type restaurant, I found it to be much more Americanized. The food being American, is good, but I would hesitate to go for a romantic dinner here." Breakfast |
|
Punto de Encuentro CafeLocation: Comments: "Olga is the lady who runs this breakfast haven which is very popular among many of the locals. One of the best breakfasts I remember was the spinach omelet. Olga had fresh spinach which she picked for the occasion (so it isn’t always available). She has a great selection of breakfast choices but the average bill per person runs close to $10." Phone: (507) XXX-XXXX |
Panamonte Location: Comments: "A wonderful elegant breakfast place with eggs benedict, smoked salmon and bagel, eggs florentine, eggs fritatta and more. Get there before 11 am." Phone: (507) XXX-XXXX |
Central ParkLocation: It is located right across from Central Park. Comments: "I really liked this place for breakfast. But scrambled eggs are hit and miss in the way they are cooked. The menu is not expensive, coffee is good and there is a decent variety." Phone: (507) |
Dorado ParkLocation: Comments: "A sister restaurant to Central Park, located in Alto Dorado beside the Chinese restaurant and supermarket. The menu is idental to Central Park and food is equally good for breakfast." Phone: (507) XXXXXX |
Burgers |
|
Amigos RestaurantLocation: Downtown across from Central Park. Comments: "There is a decent selection of breakfast items on the menu ranging around $4.95 (with unlimited coffee or tea). And if you don’t want egg dishes, order a wonderful fruit, yogurt and meusli plate." |
Amigos RestaurantLocation: Comments: "The burgers and fries are pretty good as long as you request them “medium”. I found that if I asked for “well done”, the burger came out tasting like cardboard. The best thing with this dish is they have a great selection of condiments for the burger and fries!" Phone: (507) 720-1135 |
Tammy'sLocation:On the river in behind Roxanne's Comments: "Tammy makes wonderful burgers as well as great chicken on a wood fire, hummus, falafel and other items. Located off the main street, behind Roxanne’s." |

|
PanamonteLocation: Comments: "Pretty much top of the line for Boquete. Classy dining room and service with a great menu selection. The dishes are very well prepared and consistent. I prefer to eat in the lounge area where there are two fireplaces to choose from." |
OasisLocation: Comments: "The restaurant and bar is recently completed and Oasis now offers a great menu which is comparable to Panamonte (it might be because the chef used to work there). Everything sampled was very well prepared however, the quality of lamb was less than acceptable. Everything else was well prepared and very enjoyable." Phone: (507) 720-1135 |
Palo AltoComments: "When I looked at the menu last, the selection appeared to be a wonderful selection of classic dishes. It appeared to be open when I drove by but I haven’t any confirmation of that since the floods of November 08." |
The Wine BarComments: "In the Valle del Rio Hotel, the outdoor area is very pretty and well located beside a nice green space and bubbling brook. The menu is primarily Italian. Other traditional side or main dishes like salads and wine and cheese are available." |
French |
|
La CrepeComments: "Jean Marie prepares many crepe dishes from vegetarian, meat or dessert creps. He also offers wonderful daily specials which include a typical french dish with appetizer, dessert and coffee at very reasonable prices. This restaurant is probably more “French” in culture and cuisine of all in Boquete. The interior is very cute and cozy." |
Ou LalaComments: "Christophe is back with great food and personal attention in Los Naranjos. His dishes are very well-prepared and he offers prepares several special menus from time to time in addition to his daily French menu choices. He has a wonderful selection of wine which you may not find elsewhere, so ask him for wine if you want to buy and take home some bottles for yourself." |
Grill |
|
Roxannes GrillComments: "My last visit to Roxannes’ was for a going away dinner and I shared a mixed grill of various cuts of meat which were all delectable. I thoroughly enjoyed the woodburning flavors of the grill." |
|
Italian |
|
Il PianistaComments: "Situated alongside a babbling brook with waterfalls, this restaurant is located in a great setting. The menu ranges from pizzas to pastas and other items which are very popular." |
Papa Riccos
Comments: "Ricco is the personality that drives the restaurant which he has chosen to locate in Alto Boquete just across from Brisas Boquetenas. Ricco isn’t opened yet but he will be soon and he will be offering brick oven pizzas."
|
Cafe PomodoroComments: "Excellent location shared with the Wine Bar at Valle del Rio Hotel. On the last occasion, food was just ok, service very slow, but if you sit outside by the brook, you might not care." |

|
AntojitosComments: "I have not had to opportunity to eat here yet although I have heard good things about this restaurant." |
La CasonaComments: "I enjoyed the chicken tortillas which were enough to feed me for two meals. The time I tried this restaurant, it was full so I do not know if tht is an indicator of popularity. It is inexpensive so that may be part of the popularity factor." |
El Charro MexicanoComments: "Inexpensive, but you really have to know what to eat as most of the choices seriously lack flavor. It may be better for take out so that you can add your own flavor when you get home." |
|
Middle Eastern |
|
Al ZaranaComments: "I found the menu to be so large that I stuck with an appetizer which cost $14. It was delicious and I could not eat half of what was served so I suspect this is a suitable restaurant to order items and share with other guests." |
TammysComments: "Not only does Tammy offer great wood fire-roasted chicken and burgers. We found a wonderful surprise on her menu. Tammy is from Egypt and offers some some great dishes like: hummus, falafel and salads. Located off the main street, behind Roxanne’s." |
Panamanian |
|
El SabrosonComments: "Fast cheap eats available in cafeteria style. I’ve heard the trout is good (trucha)." |
Cafe NelvisComments: "Mostly popular for its fried chicken. They have other typical Panamian choices which are good. Located across from the elementry school Bajo Boquete." |
Central ParkComments: "Good Panamian food, with good view of the park." |
Dorado ParkComments: "Sister restaurant to Central Park, located in Alto Dorado. Same good Panamian food." |
AurasComments: "Limited selection but very good since they cook to order. Still recommended highly." |
MilquiburgerComments: "A small kiosk off the side of the road going towards Los Naranjos. It offers fried chicken and burgers….very greasy but good." |
A Mi ModoComments: "Open late which can be quite nice for a pizza which is all I’ve eaten here. There are other choices on their menu so you aren’t limited to pizza." |
Guari GuariComments: "Guari Guari is quaint little road house in central Palmira. It is known more for it’s music than it’s cuisine but if you want a very inexpensive meal and fun entertainment Thursday through Sunday evening I recommend a stop at Guari Guari." |
